Admission Procedure

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR B.A. LL.B. (5-YEAR) COURSE:

The Admission process for the B.A. LL.B. (5-Year) Course  is conducted under the supervision of the University of Calcutta. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the University and must secure admission through merit ranking in the Calcutta University Law Entrance Test (CULET). Based on this merit ranking, candidates are allotted seats through a counselling process conducted by the University of Calcutta.

 

  • Eligibility Criteria – Candidates must have successfully completed the 10+2 level (or equivalent) from a board recognized by the University of Calcutta and there is no age bar. The minimum qualifying marks are as follows:

  • General Category: A minimum of 45% in the best four subjects (Excluding Compulsory Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).
  •  
  • SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ EWS/ Persons with Disability (40% or more disability): A minimum of 40% in the best four subjects (excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).
  •  
  • Additional Requirements for Candidates from Other Boards: Candidates who have completed 10+2 from boards other than WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE, Rabindra Mukto Vidyalaya, and NIOS must obtain an “Equivalence Certificate” from the Registrar’s Office (Equivalence Section) of the University of Calcutta at: University of Calcutta 87/1, College Street, Kolkata – 700073

To obtain the Equivalence Certificate, candidates must submit a written application on plain paper along with a photocopy of their 10+2 mark sheet. This certificate is mandatory at the time of admission, and it is advisable to obtain it before submitting the online application.
